Here's an old photo from Spring 2007. We had a cold snap later than expected that spring. The fountain had already been turned on. I snapped this photo as I was leaving class one night.
I liked how the water was still running, yet the base of the fountain was frozen, as well as most of the basin.
The fountain is usually lit in the evening while it is running, so I wasn't surprised to find it lit on this night. The blue light looked mystical from behind the ice walls that had formed. Ripples that had formed in the ice added an interesting quality to the light.
